The Verdin Company

The Verdin Company is a manufacturer of bronze bells based in Cincinnati, Ohio. Since 1842, Verdin has been making bells for use in church bells, clock towers, peals, chimes, and carillons. They also manufacture electronic carillons, street clocks, glockenspiels, and monuments. [http://www.verdin.com/pdf/Verdin-General-Catalog-161.pdf]

The company's headquarters, in the refurbished Saint Paul's Church in downtown Cincinnati, includes a museum of bells.

The World Peace Bell in Newport, Kentucky, the largest swinging bell in the world (33,285 kg / 73,381 lbs. with a width of 12 feet / 3.7 m) was cast in 1999 under Verdin's direction by the Paccard foundry near Annecy, France.

Verdin is included on the List of oldest companies (1842)
