Tom Kite , at 5 under par and received $183,600 in prize money. This was the tournament thatTiger Woods won by 12 strokes for his first major victory.Tommy Tolles finished 5th at the U.S. Open in 1997 and finished 1 spot out (11th) from making the 1998 U.S. Ryder Cup Team.
