SeamlessWeb is an online food ordering web site where users can order food from online menus.

About SeamlessWeb

SeamlessWeb was launched in 1999, providing companies with a Web-based system for ordering food from restaurants/caterers, florists, gift-basket purveyors, and other local vendors. They currently serve over 1,500 companies in the United States and in London. The service is also available for personal orders in New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Houston, New Jersey, and Connecticut. They were acquired by Aramark in April 2006.

The name "SeamlessWeb" was coined to reflect a unique approach to creating efficiencies in billing. Solutions can be integrated easily – "seamlessly" – with companies' existing accounting systems, streamlining the entire ordering process and reducing wasteful administrative overhead.

How it works

Users enter their address and SeamlessWeb returns a list of restaurants that will deliver to the submitted address. Users then select a restaurant, create an order from the online menu, and submit the order electronically by entering their credit card or a company billing code. Ratings, reviews, photos, tags, and other information is provided to help the user find the most appropriate meal.

SeamlessWeb does not prepare or deliver any food. Once a user submits an order, it is automatically sent to a dedicated computer terminal or fax machine at the restaurant. The restaurant confirms the order with SeamlessWeb and then prepares and delivers the order.

Accolades

Throughout its history, SeamlessWeb has received several prestigious awards and designations, including recognition as the 4th-fastest growing company in the United States in the 2004 Inc. 500 list [ [http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_pwwi/is_200410/ai_n8560071 SeamlessWeb Named 4th-fastest Growing Company in the U.S. on Inc. 500] ] , the #1 ranking as the fastest growing Internet-based services company in New York state in the 2005 Deloitte Technology Fast 50 [ [http://www.prnewswire.com/cgi-bin/stories.pl?ACCT=104&STORY=/www/story/11-03-2005/0004207751&EDATE= Deloitte Technology Fast 50 for 2005] ] , and a selection as one of Time Magazine's 50 Coolest Web Sites for 2006.
