Dawn Covington, Ed.D., is a Neo-Theosophist teacher, author, and a teacher of post-graduate adult education theory at the
University of California Online University andCapella University . Covington's essay, "Spiritual Alchemy," was collected in the 2006 book "Healing Our Planet, Healing Ourselves: The Power of Change Within to Change the World". Other contributors to the book include theDalai Lama andRam Dass .Covington's esotericist teachings are associated with the
Count of St Germain , an 18th century historical figure that is believed to be anascended master , or celestial being. Covington has written many books that she and her followers believe constitute dictations of the teachings of this ascended master to humans. These teachings are variously about religion, spirituality, politics, economic trends, ethics, or imminent social change. Covington calls her esoteric curriculum "Saint Germain's Pure Joy System of Spiritual Alchemy", which, according to Covington, "transmutes physical and psychological burdens."Other people and groups associated with the Saint Germaine-ascended master movement include
David Lewis ,Elizabeth Clare Prophet ,The Temple of The Presence ,The Bridge to Freedom , the "I Am" Movement andChurch Universal and Triumphant . This movement is variously seen as offshoots from or as the continuation of theTheosophical Society . Covington has been criticized as a false messenger of Saint Germain by some post-CUT splinter groups. She maintains that she has received formal initiation from the Church Universal and Triumphant.External links
