Aridaía ( _gr. Αριδαία; South Slavic: "S'botsko", "Sabotsko", "Subotsko" [Todor Hristov Simovski, "The Inhabited Places of the Aegean Macedonia" (Skopje 1998), ISBN 9989-9819-4-9, p. 99.] ) is a town and its surrounding municipality in the Pella Prefecture, Macedonia, Greece. Formerly the capital of the defunct Almopia eparchy, the municipality is located in the northwest corner of the prefecture, bordering the southern part of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and the northeast corner of the Florina Prefecture. It is the eighth-largest municipality in Greece, with a land area of 562.910 km². Its population is 20,213 (2001 census). Its municipal seat is the town of Aridaía (pop. 5,600). Its largest other towns are Prómachoi (pop. 1,825), Sosándra (1,206), Ápsalos (1,178), Loutráki (1,163), Polykárpi (1,071), Tsákoi (1,020), Voreinó (871), and Χifianí (850). The municipality is divided into 17 municipal districts.
