Joan Willoughby, 7th Baroness Willoughby de Eresby

Joan Willoughby, 7th Baroness Willoughby de Eresby

Joan Willoughby, 7th Baroness Willoughby de Eresby (died before 13 February 1462) was an English baroness in her own right. She was the daughter of Robert Willoughby, 6th Baron Willoughby de Eresby and Lady Elizabeth Montagu.

On her father's death in 1452 she succeeded him in the barony of Willoughby de Eresby.

In 1446, she was married to Richard Welles, 7th Baron Welles, which was also baron Willoughby in her right. They had two children, a son and a daughter:

*Robert Welles, 8th Baron Willoughby de Eresby (d. 1470)
*Joan Welles, 9th Baroness Willoughby de Eresby (d. 1475)

On her death in 1462, both baronies seemed to become merged, but of the attainder of her husband a few years later, the barony of Welles became forfeited.
