The Midwest Motorcycle Alcoholics Anonymous Convention (MMAAC) is an annual
Alcoholics Anonymous convention held since2001 that includes recovering alcoholics, their families and invited guests.The purposes of this convention are to:
*Celebrate the alcoholics' continued sobriety
*Renew their effort in working the12 steps
*Share their experience, strength and hope with each other
*Listen to a variety of invited and motivational Alcoholics Anonymous speakers
*Reach out to those struggling with alcoholismDespite its name, this is not a motorcycle club and participants need not have a motorcycle.
The first and second MMAAC were held in
Nelson, Illinois while the third through seventh were held inPearl City, Illinois . The MMAAC is primarily a camping event with a covered stage for the speaker area, a protected area for the listeners and tents for the social areas.External links
