Clinical Assistant Professor inRestorative Dentistry at theUniversity of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry .Dr. Bedran-Russo previously taught at the University of
Campinas ’ Piracicaba School of Dentistry inBrazil , and at theUniversity of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC).As a
researcher , she holds aNational Institutes of Health K-08 grant, “Stability of cross-linkeddentin and its clinical application,” as well as a Wach Fund Grant from the College, “Long-term effect of cross linkers on dentin bonded interfaces.” She has nearly 100journal articles andabstracts inpublication worldwide, with more pending.She is expanding the research of
biomaterials andtooth-restoration interfaces usingbiomimetics andtissue engineering . Her work is focused ontooth properties and the improvement or development of new restorative materials.Originally from
Brazil , Dr. Bedran-Russo earned herDDS at theAracatuba School of Dentistry inSão Paulo ; her MS inoperative dentistry/clinical sciences atPiracicaba ; and herPhD in dental material sciences at Piracicaba. She came to theU.S. in 2003 to do herthesis on the “Effects of Thermal and Mechanical Cycling on Restorations Interfaces” at UNC.Her
husband , Dr. Stephen Russo, is aperiodontist .References
