Latridae , found off southernAustralia , and aroundNew Zealand , at depths of from 50 to 300 m. Its length is between 60 and 120 cm, and the maximum recorded weight is 25 kg.The striped trumpeter is very similar in shape and features to the
blue moki , but with a distinctly concave forehead. It is olive-green or yellow-green on the back with three wide longitudinal bands of yellow-brown that continue forward on to the head. The belly is silvery, tinged with yellow, and the fins are green-yellow. Each jaw bears many rows of small curved teeth and using these striped trumpeters feed actively oncrab s,shrimp ,octopus ,andsquid and other fishes.They are caught commercially.
