Jeffrey Davies

Jeffrey Davies (born 1967) in Washington D.C. is a guitarist best known for his contributions to the neo-psychedelic rock group The Brian Jonestown Massacre. He played in the band from 1992 to 1999. He rejoined the band in 2001 only to quit again in 2003. Spending a good deal of his early years in Washington D.C. Jeffrey's family moved to New Mexico where he spent his teen years before eventually moving to San Francisco. While in San Francisco he would become a founding member of The Brian Jonestown Massacre appearing on the majority of their recordings. He would be a part of the band long enough to be a part of their collective move to Los Angeles before their record deal with TVT.

Most recently the highly sought after guitarist has been doing mostly session work with both current and former members of The Brian Jonestown Massacre, and the group known as Dead Meadow.

He is featured in the film "DiG!" about The Brian Jonestown Massacre and their love/hate relationship with The Dandy Warhols.

Trivia

*Davies sang lead vocals on "(I Love You) Always" on the album "Bravery, Repetition and Noise". It was also the only time he sang lead for The Brian Jonestown Massacre.

*Davies can also play the organ, as well as the saxophone.

*Is featured in the Ondi Timoner directed documentary "DiG!". The film deals with the intense love/hate relationship fuelled by Anton Newcombe, between the BJM and The Dandy Warhols.

*Briefly a member of former Detroit psych group Siddhartha (Marlon Hauser).
