The municipality is formed from two communities: Oberbaldingen (elev. 559m) is located on the crest of Mount Spornegg, a semicicular hill. Unterbaldingen (elev. 460m) lies lower, on the east slope of the hill. The development of the two towns has only recently connected them.The area of the municipality is 282 hectares, of which 92 are forested and 28 are developed. In December 2005 266 people lived in Baldingen, of whom 4.9% were foreigners. At the time of the 2000 census, 48.6% were Catholic, and 30.1% were Protestant. 98% listed German as their main language.
