"Les Démocrates" was a provincial political party in
Quebec ,Canada , founded by former "Ralliement créditiste du Québec " leaderCamil Samson and formerProgressive Conservative Party of Canada federal cabinet ministerPierre Sévigny onNovember 18 1978 . It was renamed the "Parti démocrate créditiste" onJanuary 1 1980 , a reference to thesocial credit theory of monetary economics. Samson joined theLiberal Party of Quebec onSeptember 2 1980 , and the "Parti démocrate créditiste" was dissolved.
