Peter Brezovan (born December 9, 1979 in Czechoslovakia) is a former Slovak under-21 international footballer who currently plays for English League One outfit Swindon Town.

The tall goalkeeper began his career in his native Slovakia with PS Bratislava followed by moves to Vinohrady Bratislava, SKP Devín, Slovan Breclav, 1. HFK Olomouc before joining his current employers 1. FC Brno. Brezovan played for FK Inter Bratislava on loan before he was spotted by Swindon boss Dennis Wise during a trial in Crewe. Wise was impressed and signed the Slovak on a season long loan with view to make the deal permanent later.

Rumour has it that Dennis Wise had an outstanding favour owed by Brezovan's agents. He decided to take up this favour and prevent the agent from telling other, higher-division clubs, about Brezovan.

The Slovak's Swindon debut came on the opening day of the 2006/07 campaign - away at Hartlepool United. Swindon were shaky at times throughout the match but Brezovan stood firm and performed heroics saving two Hartlepool penalties from Joel Porter and Ritchie Humphreys. Swindon finished 1-0 winners and the talk was about a debut to remember by Peter Brezovan.

Following his heroics in the game against Hartlepool and a string of impressive displays, Peter was awarded the PFA Player of the Month award for September.

Sadly, due to falling awkwardly in the 76th minute of the home game against Grimsby Town on the 14th October - in which Swindon triumphed 3-0 - Brezovan suffered a suspected broken arm and it has been reported that he will miss the rest of the season.

Despite this, manager Dennis Wise has stated that he is hoping to tie up a permanent deal for the goalkeeper as the deal is reported to contain a first option clause wherein the Town have the option to buy him for a fixed fee - believed to be around the £50,000 mark - at any time.

On March 29, 2007 - it was confirmed that Brezovan had signed a two-year contract with Swindon.

In the 2007-2008 season Peter Brezovan was confirmed as second string keeper, after Phil Smith astonished Football League Two in goal and did very well in his first few games for Town in League 1. Brezovan was given number 12 and slumped in the Town rating after conceding an easy goal in a 4-1 win home to Brentford

Chance to shine 'Again'

Mid-way through the 2007/2008 season Number One and On-form goalkeeper Phil Smith was injured in a match home to port-vale and it was basically handed to Brezovan a first team slot for the next few up-coming matches. At first Peter was very iffy in goal and nervous trying to do heroics to make up for his poor second string season so far, eventually after a few games he staretd to shape up and became a fans firm favourite again despite the bad press he encountered during matches from the fans. Eventually one month before the end of the season Smith recovered from his Hernia injury and was able to play in goal as the "Numbero Uno" yet again, but even after a few solid performances for the reserves Smith failed to show his previous strength in goal and concedeed more then one goal from par below Swindon teams and Brezovan was welcomed back as the unspoken number one again, its most likely for the 2008/2009 season unless another keeper is bought Brezovan will take back the number one shirt and the 6" keeper will keep guard of the goals at the county ground, with rumour of a transfer for Smith.

In September 2007 Brezovan spent two days on trial with Everton F.C.
