The Wrekin is the strongest, and can be heard from outside the county, especially along the M5 and M6 near Birmingham, as well as intoStaffordshire . It can also be received reliably inWrexham and as a result, throughout North East Wales. The other transmitters have a much weaker signal only heard up to about 6 miles (10 km) away at most. inote|BBC|BBCrange The Wrekin transmitter also broadcasts the commercial stationBeacon FM on 103.1FM,Digital One , theMXR West Midlands 12A multiplex andBBC DAB National . The transmitters also have television, and Ludlow has national radio frequencies. DAB signals started on31 January 2001 from the NOW Digital [http://www.now-digital.co.uk/nuwolverhampton.htm Wolverhampton, Shrewsbury and Telford 11B] multiplex.
