The Funkoars are an Australian hip hop act from Adelaide. They are part of the Certified Wise crew, sixteen South Australian hip hop artists (including the Hilltop Hoods) who often appear on each others tracks on various albums.

Biography

"Funkoars" members are Mr. Trials (Producer/MC), Uncle Sesta (Producer/MC), Sketchy Hons (MC) and DJ Reflux (DJ) and were established in 1999. [ [http://www.amo.org.au/artist.asp?id=4289 Australia Music Online - artist profile] ]

Their debut album, "Who's Your Step Daddy" was released by Obese Records in 2003, which was followed by "The Greatest Hits" in 2006. The production is mostly handled by Sesta and Trials who have gone on to receive exposure producing for the Hilltop Hoods. Guest appearances on the album include Hilltop Hoods ("What I Want"), Vents ("The Symphony") and Pegz ("Meet The Family"). In 2007 they performed at the Adelaide Big Day Out. The group started their own label, Peepshow Entertainment.

In June, 2005, Trials released a solo EP entitled "For the Ladies", which received distribution through Obese Records. The EP won 'Best 12" EP' at the OZHipHop.Com Awards in 2005. In 2008, the Funkoars left Obese Records and signed with the Hilltop Hoods-directed label, Golden Era Records.
