Cranleigh Line which served the small village of Slinfold. The line was single-tracked and opened in2 October 1865 . The station was equipped with a single platform and a small goods yard facility. At one time it had three private sidings serving abrickworks (later Duke & Ockendens) and a timber yard (later Randalls ladders). These and the nearbylevel crossing required threesignal box es to control the traffic here. The line closed to freight in
1962 and to passengers on14 June 1965 , a victim of the closure programme advocated by "The Reshaping of British Railways" report (theBeeching Axe ). At the time of its closure, Slinfold carried 5,000 passengers a week and 5,000 tons of freight. The station was demolished and a caravan park now stands on the site [cite news | title=Slinfold Caravan Club Site | date= | url =http://www.caravanclub.co.uk/Planning+Your+trip/UK+Trips/Site+Search+and+Book/Club+Sites/Site+Detail.htm?csid=SLINFOLD | work =The Caravan Club | accessdate = 2008-01-13 ] .
