He was selected by NASA in June 1998. He served as a CAPCOM (spacecraft communicator) in Mission Control for Station Expeditions 1 through 7 and for Shuttle missions
STS-104 ,STS-108 , andSTS-112 .In 2006, he was assigned to fly as a crewmember on Shuttle mission
STS-122 , which in 2008 delivered theEuropean Space Agency 's Columbus laboratory module to theInternational Space Station . During the mission, Love undertook two EVAs to help in the installation of the module. Each spacewalk took over 7 hours.References
