Backwaters Press

"Backwaters Press" is a small press based in Omaha, Nebraska that publishes poetry and fiction. Many of the authors published by the press are also based in Nebraska.

The Backwaters Press has in the past offered the Backwaters Prize, the Weldon Kees Award, and the Omaha Prize, but as of 2005 is no longer offering contests. As of June 12, 2008, the Backwaters Press has discontinued reading manuscripts for possible publication until further notice..

The editor of the Backwaters Press is Greg Kosmicki.
