- V. C. Morris Gift Shop
The V. C. Morris Gift Shop is located at 140 Maiden Lane in
San Francisco, California , USA, and was renovated byFrank Lloyd Wright in 1948. The store was used by Wright as a physicalprototype , orproof of concept for the circular ramp at theSolomon R. Guggenheim Museum . Legend has it that Wright had to cajole the owners for that commission, as he was already engaged in designing their home. fact|date=June 2007Xanadu Gallery , the current owner, spent a significant sum to restore the building to Wright's vision. It indicated that while retrofitting the building for current amenities (such asair conditioning ) was difficult, there have been no roof leaks. All of the built-in
furniture is constructed out ofblack walnut , is original to the renovation, and was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright himself.External links
