Eddie Richards is a British DJ, sometimes known as "Britain's godfather of house and techno" ("
Mixmag "). He was one of the first DJs to championhouse music back in the mid 1980s and one of the UK's original mix DJs residing at London'sCamden Palace , voted best club in the world in "Record Mirror".After playing at such influential and original underground clubs as Clink St. and Heaven in London and Manchester's Hacienda, Eddie Richards went on to headline the legendary UK pay parties Sunrise, Energy and Helter Skelter among many others.
Remix and production work led to the release of club classics; Acidman in 1988 which hit National Top 20, followed by other chart topping remixes ofRalphi Rosario ,Orbital andThe Shamen . Since the mid 80s he has been included in virtually every book, documentary and film on the dance cultureFact|date=October 2007 and sought after all over the world for his flawless mix of deep bass driven techno with soulful and tough tribal house, a format he has always maintained, and has led him to be widely regarded as the pioneer of what is now known as tech-houseFact|date=October 2007.In June 1990 Eddie Richards founded dy-na-mix, the first ever DJ agency, nurturing his vision of a 'global dance network'.
Later Richards more time to music production, releasing & licensing tracks with labels in the UK, Europe & USA including End Recordings, Hypervinyl, Matter/Form, SoCo Audio, Northern Lights, LHB, & own labels Lunar Tunes, dy-na-mix & Storm which have all been getting excellent reviews & chart placing from respected Djs around the world. The Dark EP licensed to Visitor records in Belgium & released in November 2001 remains their all time best seller.
Besides his long standing residency at Wiggle, a series of London underground parties, Eddie spins regularly at Fabric in London & has been recently featured in the Fabric Mix CD series & of course look out for ’Evil’ Eddie Richards as he continues his mission to spread ’good music across the galaxy’.
