Thomas P. Farley is an American journalist and magazine editor.
Thomas P. Farley is the editor of the anthology "Modern Manners: The Thinking Person's Guide to Social Graces" [http://www.ibookdb.net/book/97332] , a guide to mannerly living that includes essays by
Peggy Noonan ,Frank McCourt andJamie Lee Curtis . A regular guest on television morning shows to discuss issues of contemporary etiquette, Farley is also the editor of the "Social Graces" column in "Town & Country" and the editor of "T&C"'s "On the Town" column.Career
With Irish publisher Kevin Kelly, Farley was the founding editor of "The World of Hibernia" magazine, a luxury publication launched in New York in 1995. "Hibernia" was written for readers of Irish ancestry and covered everything from travel to fashion. He joined "Town & Country" in 2000.
Stories
Among the stories Farley has written during his career include the tale of a cruise to Antarctica, a first-person account of flying with the Blue Angels and, in the fall of 1997, reportage from volcano-ravaged Montserrat, in the West Indies. (Shortly after he and the "Hibernia" photographer left, the island's airport was permanently closed, due to a pyroclastic flow that destroyed the runway.)
Affiliations
Farley is on the Board of Governors for the New York Press Club and edits the Club’s annual magazine. He has done seminars for New York University on etiquette and is an ardent proponent of volunteer vacations, having both organized and written about them.
