- Aaron A. F. Seawell
Aaron Ashley Flowers Seawell (1864-1950), was a North Carolina politician and jurist. The son of A. A. F. and Jeannette L. (Buie) Seawell, he graduated from the
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1884 and later studied law there.He was elected to represent first Moore County and then Lee County in the
North Carolina General Assembly for several (not continuous) terms from 1901 to 1931. Seawell was electedNorth Carolina Attorney General and served from 1935 to 1938, when he was appointed to theNorth Carolina Supreme Court .His son, Malcolm B. Seawell, followed in his footsteps as state Attorney General from 1958 to 1960. Another son,
Donald Seawell , was an attorney, Broadway producer, and Publisher ofThe Denver Post , before founding TheDenver Center for the Performing Arts .
