- Grigory Vorozheikin
Marshal of the Air Force Grigory Alexeyevich Vorozheikin (1895-1974, _ru. Ворожейкин, Григорий Алексеевич) was aSoviet Air Force general.During the
Great Patriotic War (1941 - 1945) he was commander of the Air Force of the Central Front, chief of staff of theRed Army's Air Force , commander of an air strike group, and first deputy commander of theRed Army's Air Force . On instructions from the Supreme Command Headquarters, he co-ordinated theVelikye Luki operation. He ran in the operations of theLeningrad front andVolkhov fronts to lift theSiege of Leningrad , and took part in leading the aviation's actions in theBattle of Kursk . In 1944 - 1945 he served as representative of the Supreme Command Headquarters at the 3th Ukrainian fronts and 4th Ukrainian fronts.He was awarded many orders and medals.
