Sidorenko won a
bronze medal at the2000 Summer Olympics as aflyweight , and a silver medal at the2001 World Amateur Boxing Championships in the same division. He won the title at the2000 European Amateur Boxing Championships .Sidorenko's amateur highlights are as follows:
