Basil Bourque

Basil Bourque

Basil Bourque is the co-founder and managing director of Roundstone Advisors, LLC.

In 1986, Bourque established one of the first market making and arbitrage operations in the futures contract for the Commodity Research Bureau (CRB) Index, and later became a member of the committee that instituted changes to the CRB Index in 1992 and 1995. He also assisted the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) in the launch of the Goldman Sachs Commodities Index (GSCI) futures where he consulted on construction of the GSCI. His firm was appointed as a CME registered market maker and provided the early liquidity to the GSCI futures contract.

Bourque also established a proprietary currency derivatives trading business in 1994 with operations in Chicago, New York and Dublin, Ireland. Bourque has been an active member of the New York Board of Trade since 1988, holding positions on many of the Exchange’s committees.

Bourque is a 1982 graduate of Harvard University with a BA in Economics.
