Casilla didn't enjoy much playing time in his two-year stint (2005-2007) with
Real Madrid reserve side,Real Madrid Castilla . In 2005-06, he began with Castilla after having graduated fromReal Madrid C , being only fourth-pick goalkeeper afterJordi Codina ,Antonio Adán and David Cobeño. After only 4 appearances that season, Casilla was expected receive more opportunities after the departure of main goalkeeper Cobeño. However, Codina became first-choice and Adán, a fellow graduate from the C squad, the backup, as Casilla ended up playing only in the last game of the season.In August 2007, Casilla was acquired by
RCD Espanyol on afree transfer .
