Rüti bei Büren is a municipality in the district of Büren in the canton of Bern in Switzerland. It is also a reformed church parish.

The population is predominantly German-speaking (94.54%). The majority of people are in the Swiss Reformed Church.

Rüti lies on the main road from Solothurn to Lyss, between Arch and Büren an der Aare.

The incumbent President of the Swiss Confederation, Samuel Schmid (SVP), comes from Rüti.

Government

The municipal assembly forms the legislature of the municipality. As of 2005 the executive is a seven-member municipal council, chosen by proportional representation. It was voted in the autumn to reduce the size of the council to five seats and elect by majority.

Economy

A business managing chemical waste is located in Rüti. The town gained fame across the country in the 1990s for the company's plans to build a facility for burning hazardous waste. It was eventually abandoned due to resistance from the population.
