"Européennes" (English translation: "European Girls") was the French entry in the
Eurovision Song Contest 1986 , performed in French byCocktail Chic .The song was performed third on the night (following
Yugoslavia 'sDoris Dragović with "Željo moja " and precedingNorway 'sKetil Stokkan with "Romeo)". At the close of voting, it had received 13 points, placing 17th in a field of 20.The song is about the lives of the tititular "European girls", with the band singing about their desire to travel to
Amsterdam ,Copenhagen ,Capri ,Saint-Tropez and other locations, all the while leading a carefree lifestyle.It was succeeded as French representative at the 1987 Contest by
Christine Minier with "Les Mots D'Amour N'Ont Pas De Dimanche ".
