History

"FireViewer" started as "Image Viewer III" was the first photo viewer for the PalmPilot. Art Dahm wrote it in 1997 as a personal project with two goals: first, to learn 68000 assembly language, and second, to store and view photos of his dog Harley on his new PalmPilot.

"Image Viewer III" remained a top-5 download on PalmGear (the largest Palm download site) from 1997 through 2003.

In December 1999, "Image Viewer III" was sold to Firepad and renamed "FireViewer".
