Jalia is a small village in the Amreli District of Gujarat, India. It is located 22 kilometers (14 miles) from Amreli. The majority population of the village are Patels (Nakranis (Vaderavala Nakranis) Sanganis,etc.)

Since the time of Indian independence, Jalia has been considered the most educated village in India. The main person behind the development of the village is Balubhai Bhatt who is lovingly known as Balukaka. Balukaka played a very important role in the independence fight of India and "Khadi" (Hand woven cotton cloth) movement initiated and motivated by Mahatma Gandhi.
