highlights=Tom Niedenfuer (born
August 13 ,1959 inSt. Louis Park, Minnesota ), is a former professional baseball player who pitched in the Major Leagues primarily as a relief pitcher from 1981-1990. He played his high school ball in Redmond, Washington and was a standout pitcher in college for Washington State University under coach Bobo Brayton. He left WSU before completing his senior season.Tom Niedenfuer is, unfortunately, best remembered for his disastrous performance during the
1985 National League Championship Series between hisLos Angeles Dodgers and theSt. Louis Cardinals . In Game 5, Niedenfuer gave up a walk-off home run toOzzie Smith . The home run was notable because Ozzie Smith was a light-hitter who up until that particular point, had never hit a home run left-handed. In Game 6 in Los Angeles, the Cardinals went on to win the game and the pennant thanks to a 3-run home run by Jack Clark off Niedenfuer.He is currently married to actress
Judy Landers , and resides in Florida.External links
