Jim Gott

James William Gott (born August 3, 1959 in Hollywood, California), is a former professional baseball player who pitched in the Major Leagues from 1982-1995. He currently resides in San Marino, California.  On May 12, 1985, he hit two home runs against the St. Louis Cardinals. On August 6, 1988, Gott tied a Major League record for most balks in one inning. He recorded three balks for the Pirates in the 5th inning in a loss against the New York Mets. He was a setup pitcher for Pedro Martínez on the Los Angeles Dodgers.He taught Dennis Quaid to pitch during the filming of The Rookie. "My earned run average is so high it looks like an AM radio station." Auditioned for ESPN's Baseball Tonight. Jim has six children, Nick Daniel(Danny), Ryan Tyler, C.J., Jenise.
