Rose Gentle

Rose Gentle is the mother of Gordon Gentle, a 19 year old from Pollok who was killed while serving in Iraq. [http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/4109129.stm Rose Gentle in plea to PM's wife] , "BBC".] Some claimed that this was through the failure of the UK government to provide adequate equipment to their armed forces. Since his death she has campaigned against the Iraq War and set up the Justice 4 Gordon Gentle campaign. Alongside Reg Keys she is a founder member of Military Families Against the War.

Political involvement

Rose Gentle contested the East Kilbride, Strathaven and Lesmahagow seat in the 2005 general election against Armed Forces minister Adam Ingram. Rose Gentle has announced her intentions to again contest the East Kilbride, Strathaven and Lesmahagow seat in the upcoming 2009 general election. She intends to stand as a candidate for the Spectre party to contest local labour MP and Armed Forces minister Adam Ingram.
