Yunnan province ofChina at elevations from 1000 to 2000 meters. It is found on limestone cliffs and slopes. Thehabitat is subjected to constant light fog in the winter and heavy rain in the summer.Culture
"Paphiopedilum armeniacum" should be kept in areas with intermediate to cool temperatures from around 32F to 87F with moderately bright light. Watering and temperatures must be reduced during the winter. The plant is sensitive to salts in the roots and be kept in a mix with good circulation such as in a mix with greater proportions of perlite or sphagnum moss than usual. Many growers keep plants in baskets since rhizomes produce growths about 14 cm. away from mother plant. Keep humidity at 60 to 80%
