Sun Java System Web Proxy Server is a freely available HTTP 1.1 proxy server that can proxy HTTP 1.0, HTTP1.1 and CONNECT (SSL) requests. It can also serveas a gateway for FTP and SSL servers. The proxy server can also serve as a reverse proxy or a load balancer.
It was formerly known as Sun ONE Web Proxy Server and IPlanet Web Proxy Server and before that as Netscape Proxy Server.
