Meteorologist Kathleen A. "Kathy" Orr [http://www.ametsoc.org/memdir/seallist/get_listofcbm.cfm] (bornOctober 19 ,1965 ) is the Chief Meteorologist forKYW-TV inPhiladelphia, Pennsylvania and serves as the 4 P.M., 6 P.M., and 11 P.M. weatherperson. She joinedKYW-TV in January of 2003 as their chief meteorologist, making her debut on the same night as Marc Howard. Orr has herNational Weather Association and American Meteorological Society seals of approval in addition to being an AMS Certified Broadcast Meteorologist. She came fromWCAU-TV where she worked as a weekend weatherperson. She was reportedly asked to be chief meteorologist atWCAU whenJohn Bolaris left but passed when she received a better salary offer fromKYW-TV . The offer was ultimately taken by Glenn Schwartz.Since coming to KYW, Orr has also helped establish "CBS-3 Kidcasters," wherein she and various CBS-3 crew members travel to various
shopping malls in theDelaware Valley and encourage children of all ages to do a mock weather forecast. After playing many of the entries on the station's 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. newscasts, the very best children are invited to do live broadcasts alongside Orr onKYW-TV .She was once a contestant on one of
MTV 's first game shows, "Remote Control", which she lost and subsequently had her chair dragged away as she was beaten with stuffed animals.External links
