Piers Butler, 16th Viscount Mountgarret

Piers Henry Augustus Butler, 16th Viscount Mountgarret was born on 28 August 1903 and died on 2 August 1966.

Family

He was the son of Henry Edmund Butler, 14th Viscount Mountgarret and Robina Marion Hanning-Lee.

He married, firstly, Eglantine Marie Elizabeth Christie, daughter of William Lorenzo Christie, on 15 October 1931 and they had a son and a daughter. He and Eglantine were divorced in 1941. His second marriage was to Elise Margarita Barran, daughter of Sir John Nicholson Barran, 2nd Bt. and Alice Margarita Parks, on 14 November 1941. His daughter Sarah Elizabeth Ann Butler (born 1932) married Geoffrey Kenneth Sefton Raynar, son of Joseph Percival Raynar, on 5 November 1955 and had issue. His son Richard Henry Piers Butler, 17th Viscount Mountgarret (1936-1983) inherited his titles.
