Katrine Trolle (born
1974 ) was theScottish Socialist Party candidate in theScottish Parliament election, 2003 in Aberdeen North. She obtained 644 votes.She comes from
Denmark , and worked for a time as anoccupational therapist inDundee .She was also a witness in the defamation action brought by
Tommy Sheridan , "Sheridan v News International ". She claimed in the witness box that she had had a sexual relationship with him. According to her account their relationship began during theGlasgow Anniesland by-elections, 2000 , at one point he had taken her to "Cupids" sex club inManchester , and at another point they had had sex in Sheridan's marital bedroom while his wife Gail was out at her work. Two witnesses said they saw them go upstairs to a bedroom in Trolle's home. Mobile phone records showed that he made her a large number of telephone calls, he has claimed that this was to discuss Denmark'sminimum wage policy. Since the trial it has been pointed out that Denmark does not have a minimum wage (seeList of minimum wages by country ).After the trial she continues to stand by her story. Colin Fox described her as a thoroughly nice woman who had been badly treated. In early 2007 she moved back to Denmark, but she told people she intended to become involved in theRed-Green Alliance (Denmark) .An election leaflet from her election campaign shows her photograph and Sheridan's with the slogan "Dare to be Different".
