"Arienne" is the fourth single to be released by singer-songwriter Tasmin Archer and was the last UK single release from her album "Great Expectations"

History

It was released in the summer of 1993 and to date is Tasmin’s highest debuting single, entering the charts at #31. Despite its high debut, the single managed just to climb to #30 before quickly vanishing off the face of the chart. Like "Lords Of The New Church", the single probably suffered as it was the fourth release from a successful album.

* The name Arienne is actually non-existent. Actually, Tasmin had a melody in her head and the name Arienne just seemed to fit.

* Tasmin says the lyrics of “Arienne” are about “finding your way in the world and having to cope with growing up in a world that's not so friendly.”

* Five instruments were used in the recording of "Lords Of The New Church", John Hughes, Elliott Randall and Robbie McIntosh provided the guitars in the song whereas John Beck and Paul Wickens played keyboards. The drummer on the track was Charlie Morgan whilst Peter Kaye played fairlight. Paul Wickens also played accordion on the track
