Larry "Gene" Taylor (
August 7 ,1953 -July 6 ,2005 ) was a Republican politician fromMissouri . He was a resident ofShell Knob, Missouri .He was a sixth generation Missourian, and the son of Dorothy Taylor and the late Missouri representative to the
United States House of Representatives , Gene Taylor. He was married to Gay Taylor, and had three children, Charles, Chelsea, and Jaime. He attended the First Baptist Church inCassville, Missouri , and was an active member of the localLions International Club.He was a graduate of Sarcoxie High School, and went on to
Missouri Southern State University . He owned an automobile dealership, Gene Taylor Ford and Sales, and was an automobile and boat wholesaler. He was first elected to theMissouri House of Representatives in 2002, and elected to theMissouri State Senate in 2004. He was a member of the following committees:
*Economic Development, Tourism, and Local Government (vice chair)
*Aging, Families, Mental and Public Health
*Transportation
