Will Caldwell is an Australian rugby union footballer who currently plays for the New South Wales Waratahs in the international Super 14 competition. At 198 cm tall, and weighing in at 112kg, he is a promising lock.

Will Caldwell came of age on the Gulf Air development tour of Eastern Europe when he was named vice-captain for the Waratahs clashes with the Czech Republic & Romania. Earlier in 2005, he was unlucky not to make his Super 12 debut when named on the bench against the Blues. He’s expected to push for a spot in the Waratahs 22 in 2006 following the departure of Justin Harrison.

A member of the outstanding Sydney University tight-five, Will won plenty of accolades during his team’s run towards the 2005 Tooheys New Cup title. Outstanding in the air, he’s worked hard to improve his involvement around the field and is ready to make the step up in 2006. He joined the Waratahs with a reputation for toughness, and showed his strength of character on the 2004 tour of Argentina when, despite being a rookie on his first major overseas tour, he backed up only a few days after severely dislocating his thumb against Tucuman.

In 2005 he made his Super 14 debut against Queensland. He has spent a lot of time on the bench behind Daniel Vickerman and Alex Kanaar, where he has attracted the infatuations of certain female members of www.GoTheTahs.com

By the end of the 2006 season Will had accumulated a total of 11 caps for the Waratahs, and has scored one try.

On the 10th July, 2006 he was called up to play for Australia A. For Caldwell the call up is his first at senior level, and came following a knee injury to Adam Wallace-Harrison.

2007 has been a very exciting year for Caldwell, as he has become a regular fixture at no. 5 for the Waratahs. His performance throughout the 2007 super 14 season has earned Will a spot in this year's Australia A team.
