Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar was Minister of State for Foreign Affairs within Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2004 to 2007.
Prior to entering politics he qualified as a Barrister-at-Law in London, following which he was an associate at Orr, Dignam & Co., Pakistan's leading corporate law firm.
He started his polictical career in 2007 by leaving his job at Orr Dignam and contesting for a seat in the Punjab Provincial Assembly. He ran on a PML-N ticket and was successful. Later, during the rule of Pervaiz Musharraf, he joined the pro-Musharraf PML-Q party and subsequently became Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
