airfield on the west side ofHinton-in-the-Hedges nearBrackley inNorthamptonshire ,England . The airfield is made up of several runways, one of which istarmac . It consists of several well-drained short-mown grass runways which are oriented: 06/24, 09/27 and 15/33. The field is flat and plays home to many activities, from power flying to glider flying. Both gliding and skydiving take place each weekend at the airfield. Thegliding club is owned by a group called 'Aquila', who have changed their name to Banbury Gliding Club so that visitors know where it is in the community, who have been flying at Hinton in the Hedges for over 20 years. They operate mainly at weekends and now have started to fly on Friday's. It has two tug planes - a Pawnee and a Super Cub. At the airfield Avgas is available and on very rare occasions Jet A1 is allowed to be used as the Skydive plane, (Pacific Aerospace 750XL ) uses Jet A1. It is situated convert|1.5|mi|km|1 from theA422 road .The gliders that operate at the airfield are a couple of K13's a K21 and a Ka6 and an [Astir] . The K21 is used for first-time flyers, the K13 is used as a trainer, and the Ka6 is used for solo pilots. There are also many privately owned gliders and single propeller aircraft that operate at the airfield.
The skydiving aircraft takes the students up to about convert|13000|ft|m. It takes off and lands on the main hard runway which is oriented 06/24.

As with many airfields in the surrounding area (See
