Steve Banyard

Steve Banyard (born 1963) is a United Kingdom-based football commentator heard in many countries around the world.

He first made his mark at Invicta Radio in Kent before moving to Hallam FM in Sheffield in 1991, where his innovative style helped the station become one of Yorkshire's highest-rated.

In 1999 he was named the top Sports Broadcaster at the North East of England Press and Broadcast awards, and since then, he has been working in television, mostly with leading independent production company Trans World International. He also works for Host Broadcast Services, the world feed producer for tournaments such as the FIFA World Cup, and for UEFA, where he has been commentating on the world feed of UEFA Euro 2008.

He commentates on the English Premier League and French "Ligue 1" for TWI's worldwide television feed, but this work has also aired in the UK on Sky and Five.
