- Harold Gurden
Harold Edward Gurden (
28 June 1903 -27 April 1989 ) was a British Conservative politician and one of the first MPs to join theConservative Monday Club .Gurden was educated at Lyttelton School.
Birmingham andBirmingham University , and married on the 16th April, 1929, Lucy Isabella, née Izon. He became a technician in the dairy and food industries and was founder president of Birmingham and District Dairymen's Association (1947-1950) and chairman of the Society of Dairy Technology (Midland Division). He was sometime President of theRSPCA .He served as a councillor on
Birmingham City Council 1946-1956.Gurden was
Member of Parliament for Birmingham Selly Oak from 1955 to October 1974, when he lost the seat to Labour'sThomas Litterick .References
