Beit Jann ( _he. בֵּיתּ גַ'ן; _ar. بيت جن) is an Israeli Druze
local council on top ofMt. Meron , in NorthernIsrael . The town is one of the highest inhabited locations in Israel (940 meters abovesea level ), and has a population of approximately 10,000 mostlyDruze inhabitants.In July 2004 two young men from Beit Jann were seriously injured in a hunting accident, by 2 other residents of Beit Jann, who were off-duty soldiers hunting illegally with their army-issued weapons.
