Gwen Watford (
10 September 1927 —6 February 1994 ) was an Englishfilm , stage, andtelevision actress . She married actorRichard Bebb in 1952.Born in
London , Watford trained at the Embassy Theatre and theOld Vic . She made her film debut playing Lady Usher in "The Fall of the House of Usher " (1949). Other films include "Never Take Sweets From a Stranger" (1960), "The Very Edge" (1962),"Cleopatra" (1963), and "Cry Freedom " (1987).She died from cancer, aged 66, in 1994.

* She won a Society of Film and Television Arts Television award in 1958, and again in 1965, for Best Performance by an Actress in Television.
