The Slamd64 Linux distribution is the first unofficial port of Slackware to the x86-64 architecture. The port started shortly before January 2005 with the first "alpha" release being made publically available in January 2005.

Support for compiling 32-bit binaries was removed for the 11.0 release, but was reintroduced in the 12.0 release.

Slamd64 was created and is maintained by Fred Emmott.
