January 16 1966 inCambridge, Massachusetts ) is a retired Americanice hockey player. He was raised in Lexington, Ma. and played his high school hockey at Matignon HS, where he won four consecutive Massachusetts HS hockey titles from 1981–84. Leach, Ken Hodge, John Morris and Tom Glavine were generally considered the four best Massachusetts high school hockey players from the class of '84. His older brother Mark played D1 hockey at St. Lawrence.Selected by the
Washington Capitals in the 1984 NHL Draft, Leach played for the Capitals for parts of six seasons. It was during his time with the Capitals that he would also be a member of the U.S. Olympic Hockey Team that participated in the1988 Winter Olympic Games .Prior to the
1991–92 NHL season Leach was traded to theBoston Bruins in exchange forRandy Burridge . He would also play for the St. Louis Blues,Carolina Hurricanes ,Ottawa Senators ,Phoenix Coyotes , andPittsburgh Penguins before retiring in 2000.External links
