Gregory V. Wilson (born January 25, 1963) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Toronto. He is a member of the editorial board of "Computing in Science and Engineering" and "Dr. Dobb's Journal" and has written books related to software engineering and children's' books.

Biography

Wilson received his Bachelors of Science in Mathematics and Engineering at Queen's University in 1984. At the University of Edinburgh, he received his Masters of Science in Information Technology in 1986 and his Ph.D. in 1993. He has worked on high-performance scientific computing, data visualization, and computer security. Wilson was the driving force behind the original Software Carpentry project, and later the creator of the open source course of the same name.
